Assam down town University offers close to 50 academic programs and has almost 3000 students from 10 Indian states as well as neighboring countries such as Bhutan and Nepal. The university has been recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council tor Technical Education (AICTE), Indian Nursing Council (INC), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and Indian Association of Physiotherapy (IAP). The down town Charity Trust envisages that in the next ten years, it can establish one consolidated campus offering almost all available programs to the students of Northeast India and hence help avoid brain drain from the region.
