Established in 1960 under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an initiative by the Government of India, The Indian Institutes of Petroleum (IIP) is committed towards rigorous research and extensive large scale exploration of fuel and energy rich hydrocarbon based energy resource exploration to replace the highly exploited petroleum field. The efforts towards harnessing energy from existing mines and plants in also monitored by personnels of the Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP).
