Madhya Pradesh, typically known as the heart of India(because of its centrally located position ), is the second largest state of India in terms of area with over 75 million inhabitants it is the sixth largest state in terms of population. Originally, Madhya Pradesh was the largest (area) state but in November 2000, the state was bifurcated and Chhattisgarh was formed out of Madhya Pradesh. It borders the states of Uttar Pradesh in the northeast, Chhattisgarh the southeast, Maharashtra in the south, Gujarat in the west, and Rajasthan in the northwest. It has been home to the cultural heritage of Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. 80% of the state’s population is engaged in agriculture, so it is the primary economy of Madhya Pradesh. In summers the state observes a hot dry climate because most of the state is a high plateau.
