The Government of Madhya Pradesh laid foundation to Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Company Limited (MPPGCL) in 2002 and now is responsible for judicious supply of electricity as well as proper maintenance to transmission lines. MPPGCL is under the overall supervision of MP Government, which needs to fund and provide directives. Jabalpur serves as the HQ for Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company (MPPGCL).
