About Us
The National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) is an Indian Public Health Research Centre located in Hyderabad, Telangana. Established in 1918 by Sir Robert McCarrison, NIN has been at the forefront of nutrition research and public health for over a century. The institute's mission is to promote optimal nutrition through evidence-based research and interventions that improve the nutritional status of individuals and populations across India. NIN also works closely with government agencies to develop policies related to food security, dietary guidelines, fortification programs, etc., as well as providing technical assistance on various aspects of nutrition science such as dietetics, biochemistry, clinical trials, epidemiology and more.
