Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is a public sector steel-making company based in New Delhi, India. It is the largest steel producer in India and one of the seven Maharatnas of the country's Central Public Sector Enterprises. SAIL produces iron and steel at five integrated plants and three special steels plants located across India, with an aggregate production capacity of around 21 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The company also owns and operates two captive power plants with an installed generation capacity of 981 MW. In addition to its core business activities, SAIL has diversified into areas such as mining, construction projects, engineering services, IT solutions etc., making it a well-rounded organization that caters to various industries.
