About Us
Sikkim University is one of the newest universities of India established in June 2007 through an act of the Parliament. It is a central university and its office is situated in Gangtok. Until then there was no central university in Sikkim. The university offers courses and research facility in humanities, physical sciences, life sciences and forestry; and various unique courses related to the state like ethnic history, mountain and rock studies, border studies and hill music and culture. All the colleges in the state are now affiliated to Sikkim university.
