Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was formed in 1962. Headquartered in New Delhi, CBSE is a educational Board that governs and provides affiliation and recognisation to many private and public schools spread across India. It is a government board directly administered by central Ministry of Human Resource Development. Its official languages are English and Hindi. All the schools throughout India which are approved and managed by the central government like Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya etc. are affiliated to CBSE. Mr. Vineet Joshi is its current chairman. But later on its jurisdiction was limited to only Ajmer, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh. In 1952, it was renamed as Central Board of education.
