Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, CGPSC came into existence on 23rd May 2001 under the provision of Act 315 of the Constitution of India. CGPSC was formed after the separation of state of Chhattisgarh from Madhya Pradesh on 1st November 2000. The CGPSC conducts various exams for the appointments under civil services in the state government departments in the state of Chhattisgarh. CGPSC is headquartered in Raipur, capital city of Chhattisgarh. CGPSC also performs the function of advising state government in taking various decisions like eligibility, transfer, promotion, monetary benefits, or anything related to civil services and civil servants of the state government.
