  • Importance of Intership during Academics or thereafter

    Youth4work is a place for internships and if you are here, that means you already know something about the importance of internship. Let us first clear the air about what many students or what even teachers think as internship when they want their students to get an internship certificates by going to companies. Some students have come to us with a request to do internship for 3 to 7 days. We don't find fault with them but explain them the real concept. There are other students who come to do internship as part of their curriculum for 1 month to 6 months, but they say they need training in say Molecular biology or Environmental Biotechnology. If the institute gives such a training and charge them, it is not a real internship. an intern is more like an employee who will be working in an area which the company is into or interested in. For example, if a company is into the production of Monoclonal antibodies or even Biofertilizers, there is no way they will be willing to spend their time in training you in plant tissue culture. The company might pay or may not pay for your internship effort. This is because, they are not sure what will be your contributions are. On the other hand if you are involved in the production and your hands have helped them increase their production by say 5%, they might consider you for incentives or fixed amount as Scholarship. Having said that, please don't keep on top priority on mind to earn something during summer for your pocket money. Rather learn as much as possible and prove yourself so that when your academics is over, the company will show you interest in recruiting you. The company has advantage of knowing the candidate and his/her capabilities before they recruit them. Company of course, saves time and money. If the candidates are not serious and playful, this of course can misfire.
