About Us
Himachal University was established in 1970 by the Himachal Pradesh Government. It is a non-profit public university wholly funded by Himachal Government and University Grants Commission, India. Himachal University is the only multi-faculty and affiliating University in Himachal Pradesh. The university has 28 teaching departments offering education and research opportunities in the field of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce and Management Studies, Law, Sciences and Technology, Physical & Material Sciences, Life sciences, Biology and Medicine, Dental Surgery, Music & Fine Arts and Oriental Learning.
