About Us
CSIR initiated the construction of an independent research facility in Palampur that was dedicated towards extensive sustainable research of the natural bio-resource of the Great Himalayan Region. Hence, Institute of Himalayan Bio-resource Technology came into being in 1984 as a part of CSIR's initiative to understand deeply the natural and biological resources that the great land of Himalayas has to offer. Advanced level of research and development processes are active in the facility all the time.
