National Health Mission

The National Health Mission (NHM) is a government initiative in India that aims to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services for all citizens. The mission focuses on providing comprehensive primary health care services across the country with an emphasis on preventive, promotive and curative aspects of health. It also seeks to reduce infant mortality rate, maternal mortality ratio and total fertility rate as well as improve access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities. Additionally, NHM works towards strengthening existing public health systems by improving infrastructure at various levels such as sub-centers, community health centers etc., increasing human resources capacity through training programs and introducing new technologies like telemedicine.
