Heat Absorption: Even in cold conditions, the heat pump collects heat from the surrounding environment via the evaporator coil. The refrigerant in the evaporator absorbs the heat and evaporates into a gas.
Compression: The compressor compresses the refrigerant gas, increasing the temperature and pressure.
Heat Release: The hot, high-pressure refrigerant gas goes into the home's condenser coil, where it condenses back into a liquid, releasing the absorbed heat. The emitted heat is subsequently used to warm the inside environment.
Expansion: After releasing heat, the refrigerant flows through an expansion valve, which lowers its pressure and temperature before returning to the evaporator coil to collect additional heat and restart the cycle.
